At Terra Nova, we inherited a fully-functioning equestrian boarding facility from the previous owner. Part of this community included “The Minis,” our collective title for the 4 burros, 2 miniature horses and 2 goats who live together in the Mini-Pen.

Who could resist these little characters? They’ve been caught once or twice a year, and are basically semi-feral. They’re determined moochers, but just try haltering one of them!
This spring they couldn’t all be caught without trauma for vet work, so that’s our baseline. We’ll be working on husbandry behaviors, first by creating an enclosed area within their pen where they can begin learning separately while still close to the herd.
