Workshop: Discover the Foundations of Positive Reinforcement Training

Because our mission at Via Nova is to introduce Positive Reinforcement (R+) training into the traditional equestrian world, our Foundations workshop is designed for equestrians who want to discover how R+ training can transform how we think about and work with horses.

What to Expect from our Positive Reinforcement Workshop

Through our interactive workshop, attendees will gain an understanding of what Positive Reinforcement training really is, how it can improve training practices and horse welfare at the same time along with effective methods to start using Positive Reinforcement with horses.

We will give you new ways to look at and address common training issues by exploring animal behavior and motivations, including hands-on learning exercises and demos.

Via Nova is an educational training center on 50 sprawling acres outside Santa Fe. We focus particularly on teaching professional trainers and coaches how to understand and utilize this cutting-edge training methodology. We take the principles of behavioral science and positive reinforcement into the traditional equestrian pursuits through our Priority to Positive® program to help:

  • Equestrians understand how behavioral methods can transform training and eliminate resistance

  • Competitors achieve performance breakthroughs

  • Riders experience a deeper, more enjoyable connection with their horses

  • Horses enjoy and actively seek out training

  • Support and expand the tools of seasoned positive reinforcement practitioners
